Maxime Chudeau is a French filmmaker based in New York.
An MFA graduate of Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin, he started his career as a scenographer and approaches 3D animation as a tool to play simultaneously with the gaze of the characters, the narrator and the viewer. His solo-made films, which are voluntarily raw and unpolished, often revolve around control and explore the many ways individual agency is under threat.
Maxime's work has screened internationally at prestigious film and contemporary art festivals including AFI Fest, Ars Electronica, ZINEBI and Chilemonos, among others. Alongside his films, Maxime teaches and collaborates on a variety of creative projects including animations, exhibition production and theater works.
